The lines take turns. Each plays for one bar, from top to bottom, then it starts again at the top. Untick a line to mute it while it keeps its turn.
A metronome for practising and performing.
Built by musicians and tested by musicians.

Lay out a bar the way you count it.
The circular arrow in the corner brings back the automatic layout. Lines are saved with the song and stay the same in full screen.
Up to 8 lines, each with 1 to 16 notes spread evenly across one bar of 4/4, and each with its own sound. Switch with the Sequential | Parallel control at the top of the Poly screen.
The lines take turns. Each plays for one bar, from top to bottom, then it starts again at the top. Untick a line to mute it while it keeps its turn.
The lines you tick play at the same time, so you hear them against each other, like three against four.
In full screen, optional grid lines mark three points in the bar, so you can see which notes fall closest to the golden ratio.
In the picture, the ninth of 13 notes lands almost exactly on φ: it starts 8/13 of the way through the bar, about 0.615.
Made for musicians who count in more than fours.
Tap a beat to move it through Accent, Secondary Accent, Normal and Silent. The ^ and > marks tell the levels apart without relying on colour.
Quarters, eighths and every combination of sixteenth notes and rests, written with dotted notes where possible. Eighth triplets too, and all 64 sixteenth-note triplet rhythms. The picker stays open so you can try them while it plays.
Choose 1 to 32 quarter-note beats per bar. Show only the beats, as large as possible, full screen in portrait or landscape.
Start and stop the metronome from your Apple Watch or Wear OS watch and switch songs of the active setlist. Turn the crown, or the bezel, to step through the songs. Your phone keeps playing the clicks.
Save a setup as a song, put songs in order and keep a setlist for every band or gig. Share a setlist from the share menu, for example by message or email.
Ten sound sets, from digital clicks to toms and cymbals, and tap tempo up to 1200 BPM. An optional pendulum and screen flash on the Basic screen, and it can play over your music or backing tracks.
